At a news conference this afternoon, the chair of the New Hanover County Commission echoed an earlier e-mail and called for Commissioner Brian Berger to resign. White says it came after a series of strange behavior by Berger, including an encounter with the governor yesterday.

Law enforcement officers made more than 690 DWI arrests during St. Patrick's Day "Booze It & Lose It" campaign.
The campaign ran March 15th through 17th and officers statewide conducted more than two thousand sobriety checkpoints and dedicated patrols.

A citizen's tip led to an investigation and drug bust of three men including one recently released inmate.
The New Hanover County Sheriff's Office received a tip that possible drug activity was going to take place with Vasthi Baptist, who was recently released from the New Hanover County Detention Facility.
