The Town of Leland held a joint meeting of the town council and the planning board to seek public opinion on the towns sign ordinance. Business owners were out in force to speak out against the new rules, which size signs based upon a business’s zoning.

A motorcyclist was killed after colliding with a semi-truck. Highway Patrol says the victim is Rodney Shyron Robinson, 44. They say Robinson was leaving his driveway at 4915 Natmore Road when he pulled into the path of a semi-truck. Robinson was pronounced dead at the scene.

The dog was found in a wire crate and was severely dehydrated and malnourished. He was also unable to move his back legs.
