videoOn Friday we had state playoff action from Ashley, Hoggard, Whiteville and Cerro Gordo on WWAY. The biggest upset of the night took place in Whiteville where the defending 2-A state baseball champs lost to Clinton. Trask won the 1-A state title in track. On Friday the Wilmington Hammerheads dropped to 1-4 on the season. UNCW had an historic win in men's tennis. Seahawk Lori Beth Adams continues to tear up the golf course. Plus more!

Two brothers sentenced in North Carolina terror case

video Hysen Sherifi of Raleigh was sentenced Friday to four life sentences to be served on top of 45 years for his involvement in a homegrown terrorist plot involving six Raleigh-area Muslims. His brother Shkumbin Sherifi , plead guilty in late 2012, to plotting to behead a witness in his brother's case.

Voters in Bladen, Brunswick and Columbus counties will have a couple of candidates to choose from in next year's Republican Primary for district attorney. At last night's Brunswick County Republican Party meeting, defense attorney Ryan Smithwick announced his intention to challenge incumbent Jon David.
