7 acres on Surry Street rezoned as light industrial

video City Council voted to rezone roughly 7 acres on Scurry Street as light industrial, which is a change from the landowner’s initial request. Originally the owner wanted to rezone most of the land as industrial.

US gov't accuses BofA of civil fraud in bond sale

The U.S. government has accused Bank of America Corp. of civil fraud, saying the company failed to disclose risks and mislead investors in its sale of $850 million of mortgage bonds during 2008.

Private firm to create 162 jobs in Catawba County

A manufacturer in Catawba County has announced it is expanding its operation, saying it plans to create 162 new jobs and invest more than $3.3 million over the next three years in Hickory and Conover.
