The collegiate national baseball team will make an appearance in Wilmington on Tuesday night against Japan. This will be the third game of a 3 game series for Team USA against Japan. Team USA beat Japan on Sunday in Thomasville. Japan won on Monday in Wilson. Tuesday's game in Wilmington will decide the best of three series. First pitch is slated for 6pm at Buck Hardee Field. There will be live music prior to the game at the Shark Tank. There will be a fireworks display afterwards. Full story...

The level of dissatisfaction from teachers at Ashley High School in Wilmington is growing. We told you last week about the initial, dismal, results of those teacher satisfaction surveys. Wilmington Police are looking for answers after a woman riding in the back the back seat of a car was shot in the leg Friday night. Police say Jaquelle Parker, 22, was seated behind the driver when she was hit. They say the driver was dropping off a passenger at the Market North Apartments when the car full noticed a crowd in the street watching fireworks, and pulled over to do the same. Full story...

Wilmington Police say a man was robbed at gun point after the fireworks early Saturday morning. Police say the male victim met a woman during the show and the pair planned to head back to her house just after 2 a.m. While the couple was walking to her home, the victim says they were approached by three mean near S. 5th Avenue and Meares Street. Wilmington Police are searching for a man they say robbed Family Dollar on Market Street. Investigators say a Hispanic male, with curly, shoulder length hair, about 5'11" tall and 175 pounds talked with the cashier for 90 minutes before stealing money from the register Thursday night. Full story...
