video The UNC Wilmington men's basketball team defeated Northeastern on Wednesday night in Boston. Buzz Peterson's team is now 2-1 in the CAA. Brunswick Community College had a lead on Wednesday, but unlike the Seahawks the Dolphins were not able to hold onto their advantage against Pitt Community College.

City and county elected officials respond to ballpark talks ending

video A day after the City of Wilmington approved the annexation request of a developer, the county announced it will postpone talks regarding the building of a minor league baseball stadium. For some city council members the county's decision to back out of baseball does not sit right.

Oak Island jetport wins $3.65 million in federal funds

The Cape Fear Regional Jetport in Oak Island was awarded $3.65 million in federal funds this week. The money will be used to construct a full parallel taxiway along the newly extended runway.

ONLY ON 3: Animal rescuers say hunters abandoning dogs is once again becoming an issue

video Animal Rescue groups across Brunswick County say that with the recent end of hunting season, many hunters are abandoning their hound dogs. They say these strays end up on people's porches starving or are often times hit by cars on the road.

ONLY ON 3: City Council says it might be time to look into cab shortage downtown

Wilmington City Council has not said much on the taxi cab shortage in downtown that occurs during busy nights, but on Tuesday the majority agreed that it should be looked into.

THE RANT: Leland should take a lesson from East Spencer

Have you heard yet about the two firefighters in East Spencer who shocked a junior firefighter nine times with a stun gun during a department Christmas party? Sounds familiar doesn't it? Sort of like when Leland Police Officer Sherry Lewis was shot between the legs with simulated ammunition during a training exercise last February.
