Are you happy with the results of Tuesday's election?

The solution to annexation

The perfect solution to NO MORE FORCED ANNEXATION.

How about we put up toll booths on every city road, so that when you NHC residents drive on a city road that you
have not help pay for and maintain, you have to pay a fee. City residence can have a sticker on their car, and drive
on, since they have already paid for it by being a resident.

The same would apply to city parks, shopping, and other services that are within the city limits, that NHC residents use,
but don't want to pay for. Not a city resident, but want to use a park, pay a fee. Want to shop in a business in the city limits,
but not a resident, pay a fee.

Sounds reasonable to me. Why should people living in NHC, who use city services for FREE, continue to do so. Sounds like
SOCIALISM to me. You all want the benefits of living near a city so you can have these accomodations nearby, but you don't want
to pay for them. Sounds like a bunch of SOCIALISM going on to me.

You don't want to be annexed into the city, but you have no problem using city services. Well then, why don't you start paying
for them as you go. Why should you continue to get stuff for free, when I have to pay my fair share.

Wilmington's election said

Wilmington's election said more about the voters themselves, than those that actually ran in the election.
No, the election results did not indicate the citizens approve of Mayor Saffo's
performance.
No, it also did not indicate the voters disagreed with Paul Knight's platform.
It was not even a response to the personal accusations.
It WAS a statement from the voters: WE DO NOT CARE & WE WILL NOT EVEN BOTHER TO VOTE!

Ron Sparks

Mr. Sparks, I took note of your comments at the end of the council meeting ,Wednesday night. You stated that people should vote at the election polls instead of an online poll.Once I am annexed, I plan on casting my vote against the office holders who endorsed annexation. A low turnout always favors the incumbent.

elections

I was not particulary happy with the number of voters , this election has more of an impact on our community and our everyday lives than the presidential election does , especially in these though times and with the growth of our area , and major decisions that will be made over the next couple of yrs , which will effect us all

Thanks
