Area schools make national spotlight

Three area high schools are sitting pretty in the national spotlight. Trask, Pender, and Whiteville High made the US News and World Report list of the best high schools across America. The magazine reviewed nearly 20,000 schools. The top contenders were chosen by comparing a variety of academic benchmarks and how well each high school prepared its students for college.
