Atkinson voters approve proposed water system

Atkinson voters cast their ballots on a $750,000 bond referendum Tuesday night.

Unofficial results show residents voted 59 to 18 to approve the referendum for the town's proposed water system in the Pender County town.

The Atkinson Board of Aldermen met after the final tally to vote on contracts for the project.
