The New Hanover County Sheriff's Department is looking for leads after an attempted bank robbery. Police said just after noon, a white male walked into Carolina First Bank on the 7300 block of Market Street, and asked a teller for money. No weapons were shown. They said the man ran out of the bank with no money in hand. An alarm notified authorities, and deputies were on the scene within minutes. Now they are hoping surveillance video will give them some clues. "At this point in time the detectives are working those leads to see what surveillance video is available that will become part of the investigation, and hopefully we'll get some leads and clues off of that," said Deputy Charles Smith. If you have any information on the incident, call the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Department at 910-798-4200.
