Malpass Corner Elementary School in Pender County was far from full during two make-up days this week. The Pender school district said 87 percent of Malpass Corner students attended school Monday. During Tuesday's half day, only 75 percent of students showed up. Students will make up three more days next week. The make-up days were brought about by a fire in the school.
