BALD HEAD ISLAND, NC (WWAY) -- A trip to Bald Head Island will soon cost more. After months of legal wrangling, an agreement filed with the state Thursday will raise ferry tickets from $16 to $23 starting January 1. That's five dollars less than Bald Head Island Transportation, Inc., had requested.
The excess baggage rates will also go up, as will annual passes. The ferry will no longer have senior passes or student tickets.

No reasonto cry over thisincrease in fares...these residents knew what they were doing when they built on the island.
They have plenty of money to afford the hike.Didn't they want a secluded island???

Since it is no longer technically an island, just build a road to a new parking lot and forget the ferry.
