Ban on automated calls takes effect Tuesday

READ MORE:
robocalls300.jpg
Beginning Tuesday, you can expect fewer phone calls from telemarketers. A federal ban on automated, or robocalls, went into effect today. Before today, you had to be on the Do Not Call registry to be free from those types of calls. Telemarketers who violate the rules will face fines up to $16,000 a call, but there are some exceptions. Calls that provide information, such as reminding you about a flight, are still allowed. As are calls from debt collectors, local charities, politicians, banks and phone companies.

NOT

far enough..."local charities, politicians, banks and phone companies."...why are THESE left out? NOW if it is a reminder from the bank or phone company I do BUSINESS with...fine...otherwise I don't want charities, banks, phone companies and ESPECIALLY politicians to call me...see how they ALWAYS exclude themselves from the laws they pass....isn't it ironic...time for BIG CHANGE...and that is voting EVERY FLIPPING INCUMBENT OUT...doesn't matter WHO they are..

LOL!

HAHAHAHAHA! Did you really think the government would regulate or ban calls from politicians? I totally agree with you.

WOW

The government has done something useful for a change!

Callers

It would be nice if they would ban all callers. Politicians are the worse and I knew they would exclude themselves from the bill. My phone is for me and if they want to pay the bill, then they can use it too.
