BELVILLE, NC (WWAY) -- Games, food, and a giant hay maze. These are just a few things that will be part of the "Welcome to Mazeville" event this weekend in Leland.
The event is a school fundraiser organized by the Belville Elementary Parent Teacher Organization.
We caught up with parents at the school this morning as they set up the featured attraction: a giant hay maze. Organizers think the event is a great alternative to traditional fundraising methods.
"This is our first time," PTO member Tammy Hartley said. "Belville elementary hasn't had a fall festival for about five years now, so we wanted to do something different besides going door to door selling wrapping paper and chocolate."
Parents say they got the idea for Mazeville from a PTO magazine. They hope the event will be a successful one they make an annual event.
