The Big Talker terminated conservative morning host Curtis Wright today....

whew, y'all got no issues. what in ^&*( do you talk about all the time?

I am happy to be listening to Curtis again(980 WAAV). My loyalty is not to a radio station, it is to a viewpoint that will keep this country with a pulse. I am VERY happy to see Harvord take a break, and work on other things such as his health. I would often listen to his show in disgust, not because of his kind demeaner, but his viewpoint. Many times listeners would call in and talk about their entightlements and how they were going to suck the power out of the greedy hard working people who are busting their but trying to make a better living. Curtis is right on point with not only my opinion, but many others including our founding fathers who wrote the constitution. Glad to see you back on air Curtis. Peolpe need to put on their big boy pants when they listen though, especially if they still havnt taken the OBAMA sticker off their car yet. If you want to be a SOCIALIST, FINE... MOVE to a socialist country (their are plenty to choose from that are currently in failure)take your pick. Just don't bring the rest of us down with your pathetic lazy sit at home and SUUUCK off of the government attitudes. The United States of America wasnt designed on socialist values! He is on here now in Fayetteville. I really like the guy! Still wish we had an hour's opportunity of purely local venting as well though. "Big Talker" (wherever you are), you made a boo boo!

What is your management thinking, the big talker?, more like the small talker now. Mr.Wright was obviously too good for your station. Whats that saying, "some birds aren't meant to be caged"

I have discontinued listening to the morning show after Curtis Wright was fired. The Big Talker has made a Big Mistake.

I hate to see Curtis go. An extreme situation requires a little more than a Radio talk show on Morphine. Have you heard The Morning Beat show? How passive.

In my opinion, it was a big mistake getting to get rid of Curtis. He was the voice of the conservative people in the Jacksonville area. I have just dropped you off my radio dial!!! And I am sure I am not the only one...good luck with your ratings. Curtis, tell us when you are back on the air via a website are something. Take care and looking forward hearing you in the future.

I keep hearing all this talk of the liberal media in Wilmington, but when I browse the local radio stations all I hear is the Right Wing stations constantly with the likes of Hannity, Levin, Wright, Limbaugh.. Etc. Where is the balance....oh I get it have to go to xm to hear a balance... POTUS gives both sides. I really feel sorry for people either
side who are so radical that they walk around in rage all day. Chill out people and let me buy you the first drink. Strive to live by the golden rule.... DO UNTO OTHERS AS YOU WOULD HAVE THEM DO UNTO YOU!

I bailed out on the Big Talker.My loyalty is to Curtis . He inspired me for the first time in my life to be actively involved in the affairs of my community. Wilmington has lost the greatest voice this dysfunctional community has ever had in highlighting corruption. Paul Knight , I feel wants a more moderate position on the Morning Beat to appeal to a larger audience. The talent is greater than the management. Curtis Wright was a rare talent.

I've already emailed the radio station, but will never listen again. I used to seek out those businesses who advertised on the Morning Beat thinking they were "like minded". Guess I'll just let them know too by spending my money elsewhere.

Add me to the list of new "non-listeners." Conservatives have been under attack by progressives for over a hundred years. We will not go away.

Basically these guys are all alike. They garner an audience of sheep who never question the veracity of what they say, then lead them where they want to go with cliches, anti-government rhetoric, and blatant lies. Mr. Wright will go the way of other Rush Liimbaugh wannabes...into the trash heap that broadcasting has become since the days when journalists carefully checked their facts before reporting or delivering commentary. I see this as a failure of the public to demand the best from broadcasters and a failure of ourselves to distinguish news from entertainment.

Paul forget ever being mayor or dogcatcher for that matter. Your firing of Wright is a prime example of politics at its worst. Wright was successful, loyal fan base, profit for the station and no logical reason to fire him. 97.3 is now off my radio dial.

Curtis Wright said only things that needed to be said. I respected his opinion and he was right on it. I will not continue to listen to this station. I am disappointed that this radio station would consider letting him go with the audience he had and it was because of Curtis Wright and how he was letting us hear the truth about what was going on no matter who was involved.

Today was the last time I will tune into any of the Sea-Com stations.
This is so typical of our media in Wilmington.

The worst of our community was curtis wright. A failed politician in 2000 running for school board. So he became an angry, loud conservative when Bush took office...how nice for him...he just got mean and with his gaggle of others just hurt others...well, turn about friend...turn about.

Curtis Wright had the fortitude to say what needed and needs to be said about the local and state political climate. He actually believes in the difference between right and wrong and was not afraid to call out publicly elected officials who were doing the latter. I only wish Paul Knight had the same fortitude, if he did he might be mayor today.

I am sorry to see Mr.Wright Leave. I do agree with him on many issues however there are some issues that we differ. Mr Wright gives a fresh view to many subjects. I hope that the radio station will get a person that is equal to Mr Wright. For now since I live in Calabash and recieve WRNN from Myrtle Beach I will go back to listing to Steve in the Morning. We will not listen to that station anymore. We loved Curtis and he probably spoke too honestly for allot of people. So I hope their ratings go down with out Curtis. We will look forward to finding out where he will be on the air. That station will have our loyalty.
