Black Friday

WILMINGTON--Target's after Thanksgiving sale drew huge crowds Friday morning. Hundreds hopped out of bed early and waited patiently for the store to open at 6 am. Surf City resident Aubrey Treadway was the first person in line. "Since 2:30 am..for the good deals." Treadway says. One of the hottest items people were after was this 26 inch flat screen tv for $299. It's estimated 128 million people will shop nationwide this black Friday. That's up from 66 million who shopped on the same day last year. One reason for the increase could be that retailers have lowered prices to entice customers to spend the green, in hopes of staying out of the red. "I saved $105.00 whoohooo!" Starr Comer from Indiana Says. Wilmington resident Curtis Halstead says. "Buy, just buy you know the economy is bad right now, but it's not going to be forever." "I was cutting back earlier," Tami Adams from Maryland says. "But I think now that it's the holiday time, I think more people are going to be spending. I think this is what everybody has been waiting for." Experts also suggest try comparison shopping. With our tough economic crunch, some retailers are willing to match prices.

Oh Well

Get over it! Circuit City is a good store. I don't buy at Best Buy or Circuit City b/c they are to expensive. As for the the price, well maybe you should of waited and got the better price. Just suck it up!

Circuit city not honoring low price guarantee

I purchased a tv and home theater system from circuit city on 11/5/08. I was told about the price protection guarantee they offer for 30 days, if you find it cheaper they will match the price difference 110%. Today I saw the same TV cheaper at Circuit City and the same home theater system cheaper at my local BestBuy. I called the store ahead of time to find out what I needed to do to get the price match and was told I had to come in the store. So I did and they refused to match the lower prices! This is false advertising at it's best!

Best Buy has same policy

Best Buy also does not price match on items advertised on Black Friday. We found an item $30 cheaper at Circuit City (but CC did not have it in stock). Best Buy would not price match, since it was a Black Friday deal.

very simple solution

1. Take it back and get your money back. 2. Tell them why. 3. Go get it somewhere else.

Shop Online and save some dimes

Circuit City has always been unprofessional in WIlmington, while Best Buy is professional but way overpriced... Hate to say it but shop Wal Mart in store or online.. You will find the same electronics allot cheaper than either place... I hope the Wilmington Circuit City stores is one of the ones to close... Besides not honoring anything, no one there knows anything about anything they sell.... Its absurd..

Gee...and people wonder why they went bankrupt...

1. Fired all their experienced people so the people in there now cannot answer even the most basic questions. 2. All the small print exceptions to their price match "guarantee" in addition to all the hoops one must jump through to get a price match. 3. Ugly store layouts in inconvenient locations. 4. Rewards program does NOT apply to items on sale (unlike best buy which applies to everything). Any others that I missed?

circ city

I refuse to shop at CC and this has been going on for years...even before financial problems, staff and managers were rude and if you can get anyone to help you in the store, then it is a miracle. I say goodbye to this store. I hate it means people's jobs...but apparently it is not a good company to begin with
