Efforts continue to battle gang activity in Bladen County. These efforts stem in part from the shooting of 19-year-old Jakhee Sledge outside of a McDonald’s last month. After the incident, a group of Elizabethtown residents met with city council asking for help dealing with illegal activities in their area. Members of the board of education and local law enforcement will present a plan of action. The meeting is Monday night from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the Elizabethtown Presbyterian Church on West Broad Street in Elizabethtown. All Bladen County citizens are invited.
