Federal stimulus funds are on the way to this area.
On Wednesday, Senator Kay Hagan's office announced grants for projects in Bladenboro and Whiteville.
The town of Bladenboro will receive $300,000 in loans and grants for construction of a new town hall.
The city of Whiteville will get $240,000 for eight new police cars.
