It was a quiet day for the most part around the area, but that doesn't mean we can't see some fascinating images from space.

Now that we're finally bidding our blocking pattern "bye bye!", we're saying hello to a new pattern that just screams summer.

Dear Mother Nature, we the people of Southeastern North Carolina would like to formally request that this week come to pass without the touchdown of any tornadoes. Is that too much to ask?

It takes a lot of hard work to figure out just how many tornadoes actually touched down after a major storm like this one, but the numbers are in, and they are record breaking.

As we were looking back at the Tornado Outbreak on Monday, I mentioned that many of these totals could change - and they already have.

Heading into Saturday, it was clear that this was not going to be your run-of-the-mill outbreak of storms.

Ahh yes, the weather forecast is no more important than when there's big outdoor events - and there are no events bigger in Wilmington than the Azalea Festival.
