I guess it happens to every adult at some point. You wake up one morning and realize that you've be working at the same job for 15 or 20 years. It occurred to me only recently that I've been forecasting in North Carolina for nearly 2 decades now. There are a lot of memories wrapped-up in those years, so I decided to launch a new blog this week called "Flashbacks".

Each week, I'll share some of my weather experiences growing-up in southeastern NC. Some of my stories may strike you as boring, others fascinating, and some strain credulity. But I think you'll find that we share many of same memories of our North Carolina home. I've always been rather old-fashioned by nature, so think of this blog as a virtual "front porch" where we can share a few stories of years gone by.

I became a father this past May, and many hours of patience and prayer have really shown me what is truly important in life. I am blessed to have good childhood memories on the family farm, and I want to pass along those memories to my wife and son. And I'm always amazed at how many of those memories are tied to the weather. So check back each week for a new entry, and a little piece of nostalgia as well.
