On this Valentine's Day, we have a "LOVE-ly" forecast

Mother Nature may just be a hopeless romantic after all! After what's been a cold, damp, and dreary winter - we're now in the warm embraces of southerly breezes and are enjoying the sweet tastes of Spring, just in time for Valentine's Day! And if this winter has trained you to be a bit cynical, and you're waiting for this warmth to get up and leave you - don't worry! It looks like our love affair with mild weather may bud into a lasting relationship for the month of February.
Now I can't say that it was Cupid's arrow that chased away the cold. (Truth be told it was some hemispheric upper-air patterns). But as we look across the country on Monday morning, you can see the refreshing difference compared to even a few days ago. You're hard pressed to find even any 20's on the map, with widespread 30's, 40's and 50's. Yes, all the cold air has been scoured out and that means even when some cold fronts dip down south into our state - the air will be cool; not cold.
In fact we will see one of those "cool fronts" swing by for a visit overnight Monday. That will mean a brief cool down for a day or so - taking highs down into the 50's. But as we mentioned before, our newfound love with warm weather is a resilient one - and we'll quickly return to our beloved breezes out of the south, which will return more powerful than before late this week.
Hopefully for us, we'll continue our streak and be spared of any prolonged spells of cooler air as we head into March. But we can't help but approach this newfound courtship with some trepidation. After all, we've found out in the past that it's not impossible to get snow here in the third month of the year. What a bad break-up that would be.
I hope you love that weather!
