VIDEO BLOG: Roller Coaster temperature ride continues! 2 warm-ups and a cool down lie ahead.

I've gotten a lot of 'complaints' that Mother Nature just can't make up her mind this winter. To an extent, that's true. We have seen a lot of warm-ups and cool-downs along the ride through the typically cooler months this year, but it's not too out of the ordinary really.

In fact, these wild swings of temperature are quite typical for our part of the country this time of year. Being this far south, we have easy access to the cold air to the north and the warm air to the south during the winter. It's just a matter of whether the jet stream lies north or south of the area which will put us squarly in the warm or cold air.

Our average high in January is roughly 56 degrees. That doesn't mean that our temperature is "usually" 56 degrees. Instead, you can have half of your days much warmer than 56, and half of your days much cooler than 56. In a sense, the weather is very rarely "average" this time of year.

In today's video blog we talk about the ups and downs that lie ahead including:

  • A big warm-up for Tuesday ahead of a cold front
  • A big cool down late week
  • Another warm up by next week which could be very impressive.
