Bobcats talking trade as draft approaches

Story body

CHARLOTTE (AP) -- The Charlotte Bobcats are making it clear their two first round draft picks are for sale.

Vice president of basketball operations Bernie Bickerstaff has gotten numerous trade offers for the eighth and 22nd picks. The team could swing a deal before tomorrow's draft.

Bickerstaff says trading the draft picks would make the team better immediately. He wouldn't say which teams he's talked with about the draft picks.

Philadelphia, Phoenix and Golden State have shown interest in moving up in the draft.

The Bobcats appear willing to give up draft picks for a veteran player, or move down in the draft because they think it's deep enough that they can still get a quality player.

The draft lacks big men after Greg Oden of Ohio State, who is expected to be the Number one overall pick.
