Body found at Carolina Beach State Park

The New Hanover County Sheriff's Office needs your help identifying a body discovered by Carolina Beach State Park employees Thursday. Investigators said the body is a 25 to 35-year-old white man, about six feet tall weighing about 180 pounds. He was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, tan cargo pants and black sneakers. The body was found around 2:30 Thursday afternoon, in a wooded area beyond campsites, while employees were performing maintenance duties. At this point, detectives are not ruling out foul play. An autopsy will be performed Friday in Chapel Hill. If anyone has any information about who this person is, they are asked to call the New Hanover County Detective Division at 798-4260.
