Sleigh bells were ringing on the streets of Bolivia Saturday for the annual Christmas parade. Kids had a great time chasing after candy. The parents did, too. "At one time I thought I must have been 16 years old again. I even got to ride on the motorcycle in the parade with Santa Claus. I asked him if I could ride, and I jumped right on the bike. I got candy as if I was trick-or-treating. I just had a glorious time," said Carrie Jenkins. Along with motorcycles, people in convertibles, car classics, boats, and grandpa's tractor entertained the crowd. Santa cruised through on a fire truck. No reindeer, but horses and llamas pranced the streets in Christmas attire. Anna Cohen was proud to be in the parade with the Bolivia Elementary School chorus. "We were singing songs and handing out candy. I gave all my mints to Mama." Highs for the Holiday parade were in the mid 70's but Cohen said she didn't mind. "It feels pretty good, I wish it could stay like this forever, unless it snows." I don't know if we can count on a white Christmas for Anna, but we can guarantee good spirits. "Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!", a happy family cheers.
