WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) - CFPUA crews are responding to a water main break downtown on Front Street.
Crews say it will take up to six hours to fix the problem.
All lanes will be closed around Red Cross as they work on the pipe.
CFPUA says water service in the area has not been interrupted, but we have no water here at the TV station on Front Street.

I certainly find it odd
that the water main breaks within days of Front Street opening back up! At the very least, someone screwed up bad!
Water Main Break
Call me a conspiracy theorist, but don't you find it odd that the city spent millions of dollars to do "major" renovations to "aged" water lines along Front Street, yet they only did repairs on 3 blocks of the aged system? You'd think that in order to repair aged water lines, you'd have to do them all the way down.
I heard the whole masking of the front street improvement project was for The View Condos to be able to get water for their 60+ residential units.
If that's the case and they repaired just that section to accomodate The View, then it may be feasible water main break occured because it couldn't handle the pressure diverted from the newer system.
If Ft. Street really wanted to do all these renovations without masking it for The View, then they could have accomplished the "improvements" when they changed Front Street from a one lane to a 2 lane thoroughfare a few years back.
Just a thought. Probably baseless, but interesting to think about.
Conspiracy theories usually
Conspiracy theories usually contain an element of nuttiness... I don't find anything nutty about the thought that politicians would rig a taxpayer funded project for the benefit of a "buddy"!
LOL
ARE YOU FLIPPING BLIND!? It happens ALL THE TIME from local on up to federal government...GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF THE SAND!
