BOLIVIA, NC (WWAY) -- After a nationwide search that began when Katie McGee resigned in January, the Brunswick County School Board Thursday evening hired Ed Pruden to be its new superintendent. Pruden will begin his new job July 1.

In an exclusive live interview on WWAY shortly after the board approved is four-year contract, Pruden said he would be spending time getting to know his staff at the central office.

The superintendent job became available when McGee resigned in January after the school board announced in the fall that it would not renew her contract.

We will have much more on Pruden coming up on WWAY NewsChannel 3 at 11.

they have gone though in the last 10 years not even counting the interims?

...before the Brunswick County lynch mob attacks this fellow?

The dirty work has already begun there. According to Star News Online, 2 of the Board of Education members have already broken "their own" rules by contacting Dr. Pruden and leading him to read a News-Star article with info on Dr. McGee and what was her salary during the hiring process. Ofcourse, he could have read this article on his own had he searched for it and chosen to read it. Four members voted for Dr. Pruden and one against because of the rule breaking dealings of 2 of the other members.

It won't be to long. History never fails to repeat itself there.

I have lived in Brunswick County for 22 years. My child went to elementary, middle school and graduated high school in this school system. This man has just made the biggest mistake of his life accepting this position. God have mercey on him, he's going to need it.
