BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) -- Taking a trip back in time. This weekend marked the return of Colonial Heritage Day at the Brunswick Town state historic site. Spinners, weavers, blacksmiths and cooks were on hand to depict aspects of life in the colonial port. Hands-on activities included stenciling, candle-dipping, doll making, and militia drilling. Plus, colonial toys and games!
The event is now in its 28th year, this year's Colonial Heritage Day was historic in more ways than one.
"It's important for these kids to know where they moved and you know its amazing these kids when you tell them some of the things," said Program Director Jim McKee.
This year there were a number of local artists set up to create, display and sell their wares like copper art, jewelry and stained glass.
