Burgaw Police Chief resigns

After just a few months on the job, Burgaw's police chief is stepping down.

Ed Gibson was hired in the spring, after Chief Wayne Briley retired.

Gibson gave his resignation this week, simply citing "personal reasons."

His last day will be September 12.

Burgaw Police Major Bill King will be the town's interim police chief.

Major King is a 10-year veteran of the police force.
