WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- The NBA's Charlotte Bobcats held training camp at UNC Wilmington for four year. They didn't return to Wilmington in 2009. It turns out then-Charlotte player personnel director Buzz Peterson had a hand in the Bobcats not returning to UNCW due to the cost involved, which was about $256,000 when you add up airfare, hotels, meals, etc.
During an exclusive interview with WWAY's John Rendleman, Peterson said he hopes to play a hand in bringing the Bobcats back to Wilmington. After all, the Bobcats new president is Wilmington native Michael Jordan, who just happened to be Peterson's roommate at North Carolina back in the early 1980s.
The Coach's Corner on Sunday will feature more of Wednesday's Peterson interview. That's 11:30 a.m. Sunday on WWAY.

What???
What??? Only a quarter mil??? Michael spends that on the golf course. No brainer, bring them back. If the Bobcats have any sense, they'd rotate camps around the state to cultivate statewide connection to the team.
Here's a Question
to ask him:
Coach, in 4 or 5 years, Coach Williams will likely step down in Chapel Hill. Is that your next stop?
