CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. -- Camp Lejeune is preparing emergency shelters in anticipation of Tropical Storm Hanna.

Base officials said Friday morning they are moving emergency supplies and equipment to shelters on base ahead of the storm's expected landfall early Saturday. The shelters are scheduled to open later Friday.

Marine Corps officials also said they have canceled field training exercises and closed Onslow Beach.

Naval Hospital medical clinics and branch clinics will shut down at 4 p.m. Friday, but emergency facilities will stay open.

Tropical storm watches or warnings have been issued from southern New York City to Georgia in anticipation of Hanna's arrival.
