Parents, students and members of Christ Community Church were out in the beautiful weather doing a good deed this weekend.

Saturday, a campus gardening and clean-up day was held at Mary C. Williams Elementary School in Wilmington. Because of budget cuts, there is not much funding to maintain the school grounds, so volunteers brought their gardening tools and helped keep the campus beautiful.

Mary C. Williams Elementary student, Alden Burford said, “We want to make the campus look like people want to come here and bring their kids and let them try out the school and learn.”

The campus clean-up happens three times a year and is sponsored by the Williams PTA.
