Carolina Beach adds some visual appeal

The Town of Carolina Beach hopes your first impression of Pleasure Island is a little more visually appealing. Friday morning, town leaders held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the newly landscaped Entryway Enhancement Project. The town added live oaks, crape myrtles, roses and other greenery to the area from the base of the Snow's Cut Bridge to the intersection of Dow Road and Lake Park Boulevard. Carolina Beach Mayor Joel Macon said, “There's no doubt here at Carolina Beach what we're trying to do is do everything we can to enhance and improve our image and how we look to our visitors as they come over the bridge.” The total project cost a little more than $200,000. Town manager, Tim Owens said grant money from the North Carolina Department of Transportation paid for 75 percent of it. The town picked up the tab for the rest.

CB renovation/improvements

Love the look. It makes such a difference. I would like to see more businesses follow suit and clean around their areas, buildings, empty lots, etc. Thanks.
