Carolina Beach holds meetings on master plan

Folks in Carolina Beach have another chance this week to have their say about the town's future. A steering committee will meet tonight at six at town hall to discuss the Master Development Plan. Tomorrow residents can let a consulting firm hired to complete the project know what they think about plans for the central business district. The open work session starts at six Wednesday night at the Parks and Recreation Center.

Master Plan

They have been holding meetings for what... 30 years now. It's like 1950 there with 9 businesses and 90 feet of "boardwalk". I guess the master plan is to keep having meetings.

CB Master Plan

I've not seen anything that makes our precious environment top priority. It's all about economics & development. I believe until Carolina Beach becomes a town that cares deeply for the environment and what we leave behind for future generations then all the buildings that cover CB will be huge liabilities. Our mayor & town council need to wake up and realize that CB is already a diamond & developers & folks who believe that they should be able to build what they want just because they own it are turning CB into a cubic zirconia. Let's make CB a place that everyone will flock to because there's no other place like it on earth instead of trying to be like everyone else. Plus, let's make it possible for the average working citizen to afford a place at the beach without working 2-3 jobs. The tourist industry is a very low income industry. It's time for a change.
