The town of Carolina Beach is currently undertaking a master development plan for the central business district.
The plan will establish a clear vision for the future and will guide how redevelopment initiatives and community improvements are undertaken over the next several years.
A town hall-style meeting will be held tonight at 6:30 at the administration building at Carolina Beach.
We'll have an update from the meeting tonight on NewsChannel 3 at 11.

Carolina Beach master development plan
As a long time resident of over 30yrs, sad to say I had to move from CB, too expensive to live there on the average income. I personally don't agree with this plan. Development should be extremely strict especially on the ocean front. Plus with this plan it is destroying the small town character & its uniqueness & destroying our environment. But Macon & company would rather give themselves a raise & raise your water/sewer bills. This administration definitely doesn't appreciate that they are misguiding the public. How about making CB a place that people can actually live, work & play. To keep it small town there needs to be no buildings above 3-4 stories period. Let's be a bit more creative & develop worthwhile sustainable projects instead of trying to be a mini Myrtle Beach.
