Wilmington, NC (NEWS RELEASE) – At 4pm on Thursday October 14th, 2010 Champion McDowell Davis will be inducted in to Celebrate Wilmington’s Walk of Fame. Celebrate Wilmington recognizes Wilmingtonians who have obtained national and international fame in their field.
Champion McDowell Davis will be honored for his pioneering work on the Atlantic Coastline Railroad, as well as his philanthropic impact on healthcare in our region through his inception of The Davis Community.
The Walk is located in the Walk of Fame Plaza, Water Street entrance of the Cotton Exchange, downtown Wilmington. Since 1997, the Celebrate Wilmington! Committee has honored 14 people with stars on the sidewalk at The Cotton Exchange.
