Cape Fear Community College Marine Technology students train for many situations. Tuesday, they learned what to do if the unthinkable happens at sea. The students deployed their life raft as part of their Boat Handling and Seamenship course. The raft holds 25 people and it comes with every thing you would need to survive if something happen out on the water. "Those two 25 person rafts are ready to go, we never needed them in nearly 400 voyages that we've taken, we pray we never will need them but they're ready to go in the unlikely event that we do need them,” said marine technology instructor Steve Beuth. The class also put on their inflatable immersion suits and did water training.
