NEW HANOVER COUNTY -- Cape Fear Community College is down to its last five candidates for president. Dozens of people gathered at Cape Fear Community College's health sciences building today to hear the possible future president of the college speak. The president of Craven Community College in New Bern, Dr. Scott Ralls, hopes to be the next president at Cape Fear. He spoke to the public, faculty and staff about his vision for the future. Cape Fear Community College professor John Ward said, "We're also excited about the possibility of getting a person that can even take us into the future, the future pathways of the college and the excitement level is very high about that." Ralls said, "Previously I knew about the great work that's taken place at Cape Fear Community College. I think I can continue that. I think I could bring the energy and passion to keep on moving forward and I'd be very honored to be considered in that role." The public is invited to attend forums to meet the rest of the candidates the rest of this week, and on Monday.
