Cape Fear Community College won the Region X tournament last weekend, and as a result they get to travel to Hutchinson, Kansas to play in the Junior College National Championship Tournament.
On Friday, the team received quite a send-off on campus.
“We got a good draw by playing Lamar. The number one team is Japolo. We've played them before. If we win on Tuesday, we'd probably play Japolo day two,” said Head Coach Ryan Mantlo.
The team will fly out of Wilmington on Sunday. Only two of the guys have flown before.
Their first game in the national tournament will be Tuesday morning.
