Cape Fear Community College also had one of its commencement ceremonies Friday, and we were especially impressed by one young woman picking up her diploma. Julia Nepper is the youngest graduate in CFCC's history, at just 14 years old. She started school there when she was 11 and has already completed one semester at UNCW where she's majoring in marine biology with minors in Spanish and music. She said her fellow students are always surprised to learn her age. "It's not so bad, they usually think I'm older than I am, they just think I'm small," said Nepper. Julia’s parents Richard and Nadine said, "It is very exciting for us, it's obviously something we're very proud of. We're very glad to have her finished with this portion of her education and to move on to what lies ahead." Julia is graduating from CFCC with two degrees, an associate in arts and an associate in science; and with a perfect 4.0 GPA.
