WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Part of Front Street in Downtown Wilmington was blocked off today for Cape Fear Community College's annual Spring Fling.
Students were treated to free food, games and music between classes. There was a bone marrow drive, and donations were being accepted for the Vivian Boykin Scholarship Fund. She was a student counselor who passed away earlier this year.
The event was sponsored by the student government association. Spring fling is a chance for students to enjoy the weather and take a break from classes before exams.
"You get free food. Everybody loves free food first, I just gotta make sure I say that," student Jarmell Foy said. "And it's just like all the festivities and everybody's together. There's no chaos. It's just togetherness."
CFCC's student activities event coordinator said the event was a way for the school to give back to its students.
