UNC Wilmington was to make its only home appearance of the cross country season Sunday for the 23rd Seahawk Invitational. The race was originally scheduled for Friday, but Tropical Storm Hanna moved the 5K races ahead two days to Sunday, and then on Friday morning, it was announced the meet has been cancelled altogether.

The Seahawk XC teams travel to Conway, S.C., for the Coastal Carolina Invitational next Saturday, Sept. 13, in a 6 p.m. start.

Women's Soccer
Due to the threat of Hurricane Hanna along the East Coast this weekend, the UNC Wilmington women’s soccer team has rescheduled its contest against East Carolina. The game, originally slated to take place Friday evening, will now take place Sunday at 3 p.m. at the UNCW Soccer Stadium.

The Seahawks (1-2-1) are coming off a 5-0 loss at No. 15 Wake Forest Sunday. Freshman midfielder Erin Pardini, the reigning CAA Rookie-of-the-Week, leads UNCW in scoring with four points (1G, 2A).

Men's Golf
UNC Wilmington head men’s golf coach Matt Clark and his Seahawks’ season debut at the Rees Jones Invitational in Haig Point, S.C., has been delayed due to the harsh weather predicted for the weekend with the arrival of Hurricane Hannah.

Clark, who was hired as the Seahawks’ head coach in July, and his squad will now open their season on Sept. 29-30, when they play in the VCU Shootout in Richmond, Va.

The Seahawks return all seven players who saw action in 2007-08, including All-Colonial Athletic Association selection Will Shambley, a senior, and the reigning CAA Rookie-of-the-Year sophomore Josh Brock.
