The New Hanover boys' soccer team won their fourth straight game Thursday night as they plastered White Oak 6-1 at Legion Stadium. Brandon Blanke led the attack as he posted a hat trick for the Wildcats which improved to 11-2 on the season and 5-1 in the Mideastern Conference. Coach Al Pastore's team is clicking on all cylinders and have outscored their last four opponents 15-3, including a 2-1 win over twelfth ranked Chapel Hill and Tuesday's 4-1 victory at Hoggard. The Cats are back on the pitch for three games next week. Monday and Tuesday, New Hanover will be on the road, playing at South Brunswick and Ashley before returning to the friendly confines of Legion Stadium Thursday when they host Laney. Hoggard rebounded from their loss to New Hanover by routing West Brunswick 8-1. With the win, the Vikings improved to 6-3-2 overall and 4-2-1 in league play. No rest for the Vikings, they are back in action today, visiting 12-1-1 Northwood. Ashley had their three game winning streak snapped Thursday by Jacksonville H.S. The now 13-2 Cardinals edged Ashley 2-1, which fell to 7-3-3 overall, 3-3-1 in the MEC. The Screamin' Eagles last loss was also in Jacksonville as they lost to White Oak.
