BOSTON, MASS. - Santiago Bedoya scored in the fourth minute and Lewis Erhlich added a goal late as UNC Wilmington fell to first-place Northeastern, 2-0, at Parsons Field Saturday evening. The Huskies, who extended their unbeaten streak to seven with the win, improved to 5-2-4 overall and 3-0-1 in the conference. With the loss, the Seahawks have split their last eight and dipped to 5-7 and 2-2. The Huskies got on the board in the fourth minute when Bedoya was on the receiving end of a cross from the right side by Lars Okland. Bedoya collected the cross and lifted his shot over a diving UNCW goalkeeper Brandon Miller for the early lead at 3:15. A bad hop on a clearing pass by a NU defender nearly gave the Huskies a 2-goal bulge, but Miller, who finished with three saves, made a sprawling stop on a shot by Ehrlich late in the sixth minute of play. Ehrlich was again foiled by Miller in the 17th minute when Miller tipped a driving shot from 18 yards out over the cross bar. UNCW freshman Shawn Guderian, who entered the game at the half, nearly tied the game in the 53rd minute when he beat his mark to the ball only to see NU goalkeeper Scott Patridge, who fashioned his sixth shutout of the season, knock away a shot from 12 yards out. Ehrlich again narrowly missed extending NU's lead when his shot from the wide right position slid wide of the Seahawk goal in the 79th minute. Ehrlich was able to break through in the 88th minute when he notched his fifth goal of the season off a long through ball from Mike Kennedy in the 88th minute. The Seahawks owned the better part of possession in the second half, but were unable to tie the game.
