RICHMOND, Va. – UNC Wilmington freshman forward Kelly Dodd has been named the Colonial Athletic Association’s Women’s Soccer Rookie-of-the-Week, league officials announced Monday.

It is the second time this season that Dodd has been recognized as she was also honored on Sept. 15.

“We are happy that Kelly has been recognized following another outstanding weekend on the pitch,” UNCW head coach Paul Cairney said. “Hopefully she can continue her outstanding play as we make the push towards the postseason. As with any individual recognition though, her teammates share in this recognition.”

Dodd notched a goal and an assist in the Seahawks’ 4-0 victory at Towson last Friday, posting the team’s insurance marker while adding an assist on the third goal. Dodd, who has played in all 14 games this season, is second on the team in both points (11) and goals (5).

UNCW (8-5-1; 4-2 CAA) returns to action Friday in a 7 p.m. kickoff at Hofstra, the third leg of a four-game road swing.
