Women's College Golf; Seahawks Finish Third

GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNC Wilmington combined to post a final round 307 to claim third place as the UNC Greensboro-Starmount Fall Classic came to a close Wednesday at the Starmount Country Club.

The Seahawks finished seven strokes behind host UNCG (298-293-303=894) and East Carolina (295-298-301=894), who finished tied for first with three-round totals of 42-over-par.

Junior Ashley Tait (75-71-75=221) carded a final round 75 to finish in a tie for third with UNCG’s Erica Creed at eight-over 221. Junior Carmen Perez-Narbon (74-73-77=224) shot a 77 over the final 18 to end up in a tie for eighth with UNCG’s Ashley Parrott. Freshman Sofia Hagsund (78-75-77=230/T-22nd), senior Christie Appleton (78-75-78=231/T-29th) and sophomore Cristina Manrique (73-78-89=240/52nd) rounded out the Seahawks’ entry. Junior Sara Wagner (87-87-84=258/80th) competed as an individual entry.

The Seahawks close out the fall portion of their schedule Oct. 24-26 as they host the seventh annual Landfall Tradition at the Country Club of Landfall.
