Moss Announces Seahawks Moving Forward Without McNeal

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Men’s basketball recruit Tyronne McNeal will not be attending UNC Wilmington in 2008-09, leaving third-year coach Benny Moss with four newcomers for the upcoming season.

“We’re moving ahead without him,” said Moss. “We were looking forward to having Tyronne in the program, and wish him much success in the future.”

McNeal, a 6-11, 250-pound center, sat out last season after playing at Florida’s Miami Dade College in 2006-07. A native of Clover, S.C., McNeal averaged 12.0 points and 6.0 rebounds at Miami Dade after completing his prep career at Clover High School.
