High School Volleyball Updates

Ashley’s volleyball squad has already hosted a pre-season festival and completed five matches compiling a 3-2 record. The Eagles lost their season opener to South Lenior 2-0 before posting back to back wins over Swansboro (2-1), and Jacksonville 2-0. Ashley then lost to Southwest 1-2, and then moved over the .500 mark again with a 2-1 win over Dixon.

Hoggard began their ‘08 volleyball season with a flurry of games last weekend in a early season festival. The Vikings got off to a good start beating Cedar Ridge 3-1 on Friday night, but then had a rude awakening Saturday morning as they were defeated by Apex 3-0. Hoggard then took down East Chapel Hill in three games before Broughton got the best of the Vikes in their final match.

Hoggard, now 2-2, will host Pender on Monday and West Brunswick in their Mideastern Conference opener on Thursday.
