Hoggard Sweeps First Mideastern Conference Cross Country Meet of 2008

New Hanover's Shelby Howell, pictured, couldn't hold off Jacksonville's Ryanna Henderson, but finished second at the first Mideastern Conference Cross Country Meet of the season. The team results saw Hoggard finish first, New Hanover second, and Jacksonville third.

On the boys side, it is a new year, but a familiar face leading the pack. Hoggard's Charles Wofford was a wire to wire winner on Thursday and maintained his winning ways from 2007. Hoggard ran away with the boys' team results, easily finishing in first as the Vikings took the top four spots.
