Castle Hayne -- James Yost III, 35, of Castle Hayne, is the registered owner of the Hydrasport boat that hit the Figure Eight Island bridge last Monday night. He is charged with boating while impaired and reckless and negligent operation of a boat.

Two other people were on the boat with Yost. They each had broken bones from the accident.

Yost is scheduled to appear in court in September. The investigator handling the case says there is more than $8,000 in damage to the Figure Eight Island bridge.

Trippy Yost

Maybe his daddy, a retired captain from the Wilmington Police Department can get him off easy, or his step-mother, who is a former magistrate, AND, the former wife of Sheriff Sid Causey, can do something for him. From what I hear, he is a jerk! Hopefully, he will be held accountable, and not escape justice.....oh wait....I forgot....this is New Hanover County......

Drunk Boater

Luckily he only hit the bridge and not another boater. This should be top headlines! It would have been if he killed someone. Drunk rich boaters should be put behind bars. Drunk drivers and drunk boaters should pull time in prison. No matter what rather it is a first offense or not. It is a law and time should be pulled in prison!
Disgusted with Drunks!!!!

he should never be allowed

he should never be allowed to drive again.

Are you kidding more like

Are you kidding more like redneck not a yuppie!

With that many witnesses

With that many witnesses they had to charge the fool with something. They were all drunk that night.

wow

What?!? He was drunk, I didn't see that coming. What a shock, a drunk yuppie boater. Just like the bridge, he didn't see it either.

Yuppie!?

You must not be from this area to think somebody in Castle Hayne is a Yuppie! LOL But if you ever tried to take a boat down through the waterway, especially on a weekend, you would swear you were stuck out there with 10,000 drunks! They ought to check every boat putting in to see if they have any alcohol. They also should make it mandatory to take a safe and courteous boating course. Try fishing out there while everyone is zooming all around and every which way. It's crazy out there!

YUPPIE

FROM THE SOUND OF YOUR POSTING, YOU DISAPPROVE OF FOLKS FROM CASTLE HAYNE.WELL, DEARIE, IT IS FAR BETTER TO BE FROM A FARM COMMUNITY THAN TO BE PART OF THE "NOSE IN THE AIR" GROUP THAT LIVES AT WRIGHTSVILLE OR FIGURE EIGHT.
IT IS NOT THAT THESE "BEACHERS" ARE BETTER THAN THE REST, FAR FROM IT, BUT THEY TEND TO VALUE THEMSELVES TO BE BETTER. WHY? WHO THE HELL KNOWS?

Didn't say

I didn't say anything negative about people in Castle Hayne or any other community. I am also from the country and would not like to be considered a yuppie! If you ask me, there are alot more red necks in town. Just keep in mind, there really isn't a "tone" or "sound" to any email. That is the biggest problem with posts. DEARIE!

You are correct

You are correct, I should've said 'neck, not yuppie. Yuppie makes one think of class and common sense and snobbish. Wonder if he said the famous line before the crash...... "Hey y'all, watch this!"

Castle hayne yuppie's

You assume everyone in Castle Hayne is a redneck, so I guess you assume anyone past the NH county line is a redneck. Sorry, you are far from correct. I live in Pender county in a very nice community (NOT trailers). I bet you most people in this neighborhood make more income than average. Hard working , clean people some with good educations (even college).....wow, a lot in common with the yuppies in town, sorta like boating and drinking.

BTW: Yuppies, if you want to get out of town and away from taxes there is a new housing development a mile from me where the homes start in the $300,000.00 range just like most of the new homes in Wilmywood. What do you know, we are becoming such a metropolis here in the boonies.
